-ATIN- - 5/30/08 - Phoenix House, the nation's largest nonprofit addiction treatment provider, has installed a new national marketing and communications chief. Karen Sodomick, who spent many years in a communications capacity at space agency NASA, has been on the job for about two months.

In an interview with ATIN, Sodomick said she is overseeing a major rebranding of the $100 miilion a year public provider, which last year saw a transition at the top when legendary founder Mitch Rosenthal passed the CEO baton to Howard Meitiner, fomerly an active Phoenix House national board member.

For Meitiner, who previously worked as a top executive in the retail business, the rebranding effort is a critical building block and launch pad for taking Phoenix House in new directions in the coming years, according to Sodomick.
