12/22/2015 -ATIN - Origins Behavioral HealthCare, the South Padre Island Texas-based dual diagnosis specialist with extensive operations in Florida having just opened its high-end HeadWaters property there after buying the Hanley Center from Caron, announced yesterday some key staff appointments. Says Origins CEO Drew Rothermel: "After extensive research and collaboration with various partners and leading insurance carriers, Origins has decided to retool now to not only embrace significant impending marketplace and regulatory changes, but as importantly, leverage our unique body of outcome data to lead the field into a new paradigm of financial accountability for patient outcomes."

Help Lead the Changes

To help begin implementing these key type changes at Origins, the provider has just added three new staff members. A very key appointment is Stephanie Smith who has been named Clinical Director for all of Origins' Texas programs, including Hannah's House for Women and the flagship men's program Origins Recovery Center. Smith will relocate back to Texas from Florida, where she served as Clinical Director of Hanley Center at Origins. Jeanie Griffin, a long time advisor to Origins, will take up the full-time role of Director of Family Programs for Texas. And Connie Motley, formerly the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Substance Abuse Service Alliance, has been named Assistant Clinical Director for South Padre Island programs.

MAP the Way

Over the past few years, Origins has been pioneering a new approach to treatment measurement and has been collecting a comprehensive spectrum of outcome data on its former patients. Now with data collected through Austin-based MAP Health Management, which also collects outcomes data on patients from 50 other treatment centers, Origins is uniquely positioned to leverage the robust body of proprietary information along with current research to inform enhancements to its programs and staffing structures.
