ROSEWOOD RANCH LAUNCHES NEW INPATIENT EATING DISORDER PROGRAM FOR MEN
July 2008

-ATIN- -07/24/08 - Arizona-based private pay eating disorder center Rosewood Ranch today announced the launching of a new program for treating eating disorders for men on an inpatient basis.

"We are thrilled to be able to now offer our specialized high level of care to men, they are a growing population with previously limited treatment resources," Michelle Klinedinst Rosewood's Executive Director announced this week. "Adding men to our inpatient eating disorder treatment program  is a perfect extension of the outpatient services we have been offering men for almost two years".
Dr Steven Karp Medical Director at Rosewood believes that based on a recent study conducted by Harvard on eating disorders 25% of those diagnosed with anorexia and bulimia are men, and males make up 40 percent of binge eaters. These statistics are much higher than once believed, and these numbers may be just the tip of the iceberg. Awareness and the accessibility of confidential help need to have a marked and focused presence for both men and women who have an eating disorder.  Anorexia and bulimia are deadly disorders, and the rising number of people suffering from them is cause for alarm with both sexes.
Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders offers a full continuum of care for both men and women, ages 18 and older, from intensive inpatient treatment to partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment and outpatient services.  Rosewood's treatment model is interdisciplinary while focusing on the individual needs of each patient. Medically staffed 24/7, Rosewood is accredited by the prestigious Joint Commission which assures that we meet or exceed rigorous healthcare standards.
